About Us
We’ve Been in Business for 24 years Francesco S. Viola. founder, owner, and President of Versatrans, founded the corporation on February 13, 2000. Since then we have been providing premium custom heat transfers for the apparel decoration industry, with Francesco’s primary responsibility being strategic planning and marketing the business.
At the beginning of his sophomore year in 1996, Francesco started a small company at Michigan State University called Bella Designs where he printed shirts for fraternities, sororities, and student organizations out of his dorm room. The business started out small with an order here and there, however, word of Francesco’s excellent shirt printing skills traveled quickly across campus. By the end of the first semester it was thriving with orders coming in daily. This continued until Francesco graduated in spring of 1999 with the intention of going to Law School one year later in fall 2000.
Eventually, Francesco decided to take a year off and moved in with his cousin along the Italian Rivera in Finale Ligure, Italy. There he spent his time working as a bartender at a Disco Pub on the Mediterranean Sea. One day, a company from his hometown of Hartland, Michigan sent him an email asking if he would be interested in purchasing their operation that produced screen printed heat transfers. Francesco got on his laptop, did some research, wrote a business plan and decided to cut his stay short in Italy to move back to Michigan and purchase the screen printing operation.
In summary, Francesco took over a small town business in 2000 and turned it into an international business that sells all across North America.
